Mr. Baynes started his educational consulting career when he founded Minority Aviation Education Association Inc.(MAEA). MAEA was founded in 1992 to
overcome the under-representation of minorities and women in aviation and its related fields. The scope was widened to encompass
all science, math and related technologies for the same reasons of under-representation.
MAEA is an existing non-profit 501( c ) 3 organization dedicated to exposing minorities and women to science,
math and technology. MAEA is the preeminent science and math outreach company and the largest owned and operated by minorities
in the country.
OBJECTIVES
-To educate teachers on how to provide hands-on science experiments in their classrooms.
-To educate students, teachers and the community regarding the history of minorities in the fields of science, math and technology, in order to provide
role models in these fields.
-To expose students to the major sciences through practical applications and demonstrations, thereby educating them and demonstrating the relevance of
science in everyday life with the intent to stimulate career interest.
-To aid students interested in science, math, engineering, computer science or any related technological fields in securing financial assistance, enabling them to
pursue post secondary education.
-To increase the numbers of minorities and females employed in commercial aviation, science, math and high-tech fields where they have been traditionally under-represented.
